I'm Katrina Bygrave, I have been a Company director within the construction industry for 28 years and for the past 4 years have combined this with Personal Coaching. I first became interested in the Mind Body connection whilst looking for alternatives to a personal health issue. What I discovered fascinated me and after experiencing the positive changes in my own life, I was inspired to learn more. I successfully completed training to become a Certified Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming & Hypnosis, a Master Practitioner of Time Line Therapy™ and more recently a Facilitator of the 3 Principles understanding of what drives our life experience. My focus is on awakening others to the unique resources they already have inside. So often we look outside of ourselves for solutions, when we are our best guide…..our own best friend ☺


“Cheer up… it might never happen!” That was a phrase I heard regularly in my younger years.

My shyness kept my gaze firmly fixed to the floor, a sullen look on my face.

Was I really that unhappy?

Actually, far from it, when I was around people I knew, I loved to laugh, have fun and chatter away.

However, when I encountered strangers or unfamiliar circumstances I was consumed by fear – or so it seemed.

I wanted to look them in the eye, I wanted to give a warm smile and say “Hello!” But the fear and the doubt took over (or so I thought).

And so it continued…

Fast forward more years that I care to mention, years scattered with elaborate excuses to avoid situations I felt I couldn’t face, coupled with unexplained courage for the ones where excuses were not an option. Self-help books, counselling, hypnotherapy, NLP, extensive training to become a therapist myself. All in the pursuit of an answer, to find the ‘thing’ that seemed as elusive as the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I came close many times and at best I learned to ‘manage’ the insecurities (most of the time).

Ironically, as I recently discovered I was focusing my energies in the wrong direction, nothing could be found outside of me that would solve this.

You see I’ve woken up to the fact that I have it – the whole Schkaboodle!!!!

Cue: elaborate fireworks, harmonious choirs and melodious harps… OK, so maybe not that dramatic.

But I do have ‘IT’ we all do! We’re born with it, our very own self-correcting system, called feelings, yup that’s it! Pretty unremarkable and yet so totally amazing.

Have you ever noticed that when you are thinking happy thoughts, it’s impossible to feel angry?

Well, there’s our guide, all those times when I was feeling shy and insecure, I was having shy and insecure thinking. Just the realisation that this is the way it works (for every one of us) means I have a choice, I can go with every thought I have or I can let it flow because with every breath I take a dozen more thoughts will present themselves.

Thinking is guaranteed, it’s what we are programmed to do, but so often our thinking fools us into thinking that thoughts are real, when they are only as real as we decide to make them.

The next time you’re feeling low, notice your thinking – it explains a lot!
